The most authentic hotel near Notre Dame in Paris
Hotel Saint Paul Rive Gauche is a 4 star boutique hotel located between the fifth and sixth district of Paris more specifically between the Latin Quarter and Saint Germain. These are by far the coziest neighborhoods in Paris. The hotel is also situated near some of the most popular sights in Paris, such as Notre Dame, Jardin du Luxembourg and the Panteon.
Authenticity is besides location a very important factor when it comes to finding a perfect place to stay when we’re traveling. I really love a hotel with a unique style and story. And this is definitely something you can find in hotel Saint Paul Rive Gauche.
Hotel Saint Paul Rive Gauche
Hotel Saint Paul Rive Gauche is a 17th century building. It was completely renovated in 2015 but the French elegant style and authenticity still remains in many facets such as the staircase that is mesmerising.
Also the breakfast room is a souvenir from the past. It’s made in the original water well that used to be the only water source in the neighborhood. That’s why the previous name of the hotel was Hôtel du Réservoir.
These original touches is what makes the hotel so special and interesting.
Rooms
Hotel Saint Paul Rive Gauche has 31 bedrooms each with a very own identity. Every room has vibrant flowered fabrics on the wall but they all vary in style because of the different colour themes. The rooms also create a rustic vibe through the traditional exposed wooden beams on the ceiling.
While making a reservation you can even prefer if you want a double bed or twin beds.
There are also bigger rooms to make the hotel accessible for family travel. On the top floor there are two rooms that can be made into one flat for 4 persons.
And on the ground floor there is a duplex available
Every room has a bathroom with shower and/or bath. In the bathroom you will find towels and toiletries from L’occitane, which is by far one of my favourite brands. To top it off there are also bathrobes and slippers provided so you feel as comfortable as home.
There is a minibar in the room with beverages and snacks.
You see that the rooms are very well cared for and are cleaned every day.
Services
The staff
The staff is very welcoming. They are accessible day and night at the reception and you can ask them for anything. They really make you feel immediatly at home. The check-in as well as the check-out goes smoothly.
There is an elevator to bring you to your floor.
The gorgeous lounge
Very important for us bloggers and off course others; there is Wi-Fi available throughout the whole hotel. So you are able to combine work and pleasure. You can choose to work from your room or in the downstairs cosy decorated lounge area.
In every room there is a television and in the superior rooms there is even a Samsung cell phone. This phone you can use for free during your stay. How great is that?
Delicious breakfast
If you order breakfast you can enjoy the breakfast buffet in the authentic water well downstairs. The buffet is small but contains everything you need including those delicious French croissants I adore!
Location
Hotel Saint Paul Rive Gauche is located between the fifth and sixth district of Paris, more specifically between the Latin Quarter and Saint Germain. This one of my favourite neighbourhoods in Paris. It is so vibrant and lively. There is so much to experience here from large busy boulevards to little cobbled streets, beautiful architecture, lots of cosy and trendy restaurants and bars, beautiful boutiques and art galleries.
The main attractions in the surroundings are Jardin du Luxembourg, the Sorbonne, Notre-Dame and the Louvre Museum.
The hotel is located on a walking distance from different metro stations. For me, Hotel Saint Paul Rive Gauche was located perfect to use a base to explore Paris.
Don’t forget to admire the Eiffel tower!
Where to eat in the neighborhood?
There are some great and authentic restaurants in neighborhood of hotel Saint Paul Rive Gauche Restaurant. One is located almost next to the hotel. It’s just on the corner of the street and is called Polidor. The interior is retro and reminds me at a refectory in a good way. If you like to share a table with others and are keen on grandmother’s cuisine this is just the place for you.
A bit further there are two beautiful decorated art nouveau restaurants Bouillon Racine and Pharamond. The interior of these restaurants is just mesmerizing! Even going there just for a drink is already an experience. For these restaurants it is best to make a reservation.
