Are you looking for a hotel in London with a central location and just that little extra luxury, than The Apex Temple Court Hotel is the perfect place for you.
London has been on our bucket list for a long time. Since Jan and I are both crazy about historical architecture, city vibes and local food and never visited London together, it seemed like a good decision to plan a weekend getaway in the capital of England. Before heading to London, you should definitely check out these must have experiences in England. They will help you to plan an unforgettable trip where you can soak up the English culture to the fullest.
We stayed 3 nights at the Apex Temple Court Hotel. And we honestly couldn’t have wished for a better stay to discover London.
The Apex Temple Court hotel
The Apex Temple Court Hotel is part of Apex Hotels, a family-owned collection of hotels in some of the UK’s most popular cities. In London there are 3 hotels that are part of the Apex family. The best thing is that every hotel of the Apex family is unique and has its own identity.
The Apex Temple Court Hotel is located between two beautiful architectural gems, Saint Paul’s Cathedral and the Royal Courts of Justice. An interesting fact is that this is the first hotel to be built in one of London’s Inns of Court.
The Apex Temple Court Hotel has a contemporary design with an elegant touch. Luxury, warmth, cosiness and comfort are the major assets here and ensure a pleasant stay.
The Apex Temple Court Hotel has a large variety of rooms. You have a choice between 6 different types of rooms. You can even choose whether you prefer these types of rooms with or without a balcony. Depending on your wishes and budget, you can decide what room meets your needs. Because of the large offer there will certainly be a room that meets you requirements.
We stayed in the Junior suite. This is the perfect room to combine both business and pleasure. This room is very spacious and functional. It consists of a living- and sleeping area with a separate bathroom.
The living space is equipped with every luxury you can imagine. You can relax in the sofa and enjoy a film on the large flat screen television with a tasty drink or snack from the minibar. There is even a Nespresso coffee machine, so you can enjoy a delicious cup of coffee at all times. There is also a possibility to order room service.
The sleeping area consists of a lovely king size bed and a desk that you can easily transform into a vanity area.
There has clearly been a lot of thought to the layout and design of the room in function of travellers. There is plenty of storage space with enough coat hooks. What I personally found very useful was the accessibility of an ironing board and iron in the room. The universal plug came in handy too because we had of course forgotten ours at home.
The bathroom is equipped with all necessary luxury. In addition to a sink and a large walk-in shower, there is also a bath. What is more satisfying than a relaxing bath after a whole day of city tripping? There are also toiletries provided and a blowdryer is available. So you don’t have to bring these in advance.
By using wooden accents and natural earth tones, the room exudes warmth and cosiness, which is an important asset for us. The small accents and decoration made the room even more complete. We immediately felt at home.
The staff kindly welcomed us to the lobby. The check-in went smoothly. We arrived too early and asked if we could leave our luggage while we already explored the city. This wasn’t a problem. When we came back and got the key, our luggage was surprisingly already in our room.
At the lobby there are always employees available 24 hours a day to assist you with everything you need. You can also notice that the employees have a good knowledge of everything that concerns the hotel.
Every morning you can enjoy a delightful continental breakfast buffet with hot drinks in the restaurant. You can also order warm dishes a la carte. Jan was a big fan of the big British breakfast and I especially liked the eggs royal.
Be sure to visit the chambers bar on the ground floor. It’s nice to relax by the fireplace where you can enjoy a tasty signature cocktail and some snacks.
Breakfast is served here in the morning. But in the evening you can also have an exquisite dinner here. When the weather is good you can also take place outside in the hotel’s courtyard, surrounded by historic Temple Court buildings. Unfortunately, the courtyard was under construction when we visited.
This is an extra service that you get depending on the room you book. With this service you have access to the club lounge. This is a cozy space designed to work and relax as well. You can also have breakfast here, and in the late afternoon there is teatime with a variety of delicious snacks. Throughout the day you also have access to the bar where you can enjoy complimentary drinks. We found this service very beneficial. This way we were able to plan our trip for the next day with a tasty appetizer.
The hotel has a very good equipped gym in the basement with a wide range of modern fitness equipment. We ourselves didn’t use the gym because we only stayed in London for a short time, but as avid fitness enthusiasts we found this to be a great advantage. How nice is it to stay fit while traveling?
There is free Wi-Fi available throughout the whole hotel.
The hotel is situated in the midst of all the grandeur of old London. It has an excellent location to explore London. It is within walking distance of known sights such as Saint Paul’s Cathedral, the Royal Courts of Justice, Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square, … and various underground and bus stops that allow you to move around the city very easily. If you are visiting for the first you should definitely check out this beginner’s guide to London.
In addition to this great location, this particular spot offers another great advantage. The hotel is located in a very quiet side street of Fleet Street, making it seem that you are far away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
