Where to stay in Saint Augustin in Paris – Hotel Maison Malesherbes
The expression ‘Paris is always a good idea‘ is one we embrace fully. Paris is one of our favorite cities for city tripping. It is also one of the best places to indulge in the Christmas spirit. Since Paris is easily accessible from Belgium, we try to visit this amazing city every year. We always choose a new hotel in a different neighbourhood, so that we get to know Paris in as many different ways as possible. This weekend we stayed 2 nights in the mesmerizing hotel Maison Malesherbes located in the vibrant Saint Augustin neighbourhood in Paris. Read here how we experienced our stay in Hotel Maison Malesherbes

Where to stay in Saint Augustin in Paris – Hotel Maison Malesherbes
Hotel Maison Malesherbes is part of the the Madéhô group. Their vision is that a hotel besides a place to sleep should also be a pleasant experience in the first place. They try to create an authentic and unique atmosphere in their different hotels that contributes to this enjoyable experience.
Hotel Maison Malesherbes is beautiful 4 star boutique hotel. It’s located in the heart of the business district in Paris, more specifically at Place Saint Augustin across from the stunning Saint Augustin church.
Impressed by all the gorgeous buildings on this boulevard, we were even more surprised that our hotel housed in one of these majestic buildings. Hotel Maison Malesherbes is located in an elegant 18th century bourgeouis Mansion.
When we walked in we were blown away by the enchanting interior of the lobby and the lounges. This refined and elegant style in the interior design is used throughout the whole hotel. This creates a harmonious and unique atmosphere so you can really experience the French bourgeois mansion of the 18th century.
Rooms
Hotel Maison Malherbes has 24 rooms, all beautifully decorated in the same elegant and romantic style as the lobby. Still each room has a unique interior that is created with different colors and patterns. These soft colors and flower patterns are combined with matching furniture that creates a welcoming, warm and cozy atmosphere.
There are different types of rooms depending on your personal needs. There are standard rooms for 1 or 2 persons with single, twin or double beds available.
You can also opt for a superior room with twin bed, which is slightly larger than a standard room.
And as icing on the cake, there is a suite available with a separate living- and a sleeping area.
We stayed in a superior room that has an amazing view of the Saint Augustin’s church.
Very remarkable is that when you enter the room I heard nothing from the busy boulevard where the hotel is situated. All rooms are soundproof.
The interior of the room is mesmerizing. It is not only welcoming but it creates a warm, cozy and relaxing atmosphere that makes you love spending time in the room. The best thing I liked were the small details such as the beautiful night-lamps and the vintage phone that make the interior complete.
The bathroom for me, is the eye catcher of the room. It had a gorgeous authentic bathtub that matches the style of the whole interior of the hotel. I can’t even tell how many baths I took during those 2 days I stayed here. The bathroom is fully equipped with toiletries such as soap, shampoo and body lotion. There is also a blowdryer available and fresh towels are provided daily.
Furthermore, all rooms have more than enough closet space to store clothes and suitcases. In every room there is a welcome’s tray with coffee, tea and water, there is a flat screen with different channels and a safe to store your personal belongings. The room also has air conditioning for warm summer days.
If you are in need of ironing equipment, an adapter or something else, just phone the reception and they will happily deliver it to your room.
Would you like to have breakfast or dinner in the room, ask at the reception to arrange this for you. For room service the hotel collaborates with a partner named Restoln.
Services
Staff
When we arrived we were kindly received by the helpful receptionist. The check in went smoothly. We arrived fairly late in the evening and were very hungry. The receptionist immediately gave us some tips where we could still eat something. The staff is accessible day and night at the lobby. You can also contact them by telephone from the room, so you even have to leave your cozy place. If you have questions about discovering Paris, ask at the front desk. They will give you a city plan and all sorts of tips to discover Paris as efficiently as possible.
Breakfast
Breakfast is served on the lower level. The breakfast room is also as beautifully decorated in line with the rest of the hotel. It is small, but very cozy.
Breakfast is in the form of a buffet. You can find everything to start of your day the best way possible. Taste the delicious freshly baked French baguette and don’t forget to take a delicious croissant as well. In the buffet you can find different spreads both savoury and sweet. You can also opt for healthy options such as yoghurt, muesli and fresh fruit.
The service is exquisite. Hot drinks such as coffee or tea are served at the table. Of course you can also get different fruit juices, milk and water at the buffet. The buffet is well taken care of.
Lounge and bar
On the ground floor you will find two comfortable lounges and a bar next to the lobby. The bar offers everything you need such as coffee, tea or a delicious aperitivo. I personally found it delightful to stay in these lounges and enjoy a drink while we were planning our day in Paris.
The lounges are stunning. I just love the use of classical patterns, vintage furniture and artwork. This creates a cozy atmosphere but also really brings out the luxurious vibes of the 18th century French bourgeois mansion.
WIFI
There is free Wi-Fi available throughout the whole hotel. So you can consult the Internet from anywhere in the hotel. Useful to know is that you can request a printer in your room if you need to print something.
Airport shuttle
There is a possibility to request an airport shuttle for transport to and from the airport. This is best done when you are making your reservation.
Other services
There are many other services such as luggage storage, wake up calls, dry cleaning, receiving personal messages, mail or parcels. If you are traveling with kids, there is even a possibility to arrange a babysitter for you. Do you want to look extra nice for a date, ask the hotel staff to make an appointment to send a hairdresser to your room. The same is possible when you are in need of a doctor.
Location
Hotel Maison Malesherbes is located in the 8th district of Paris in the Saint Augustin neighbourhood. This district is also referred to as the business district. The neighbourhood consists of beautiful large Parisian boulevards with impressive buildings with excellent architecture along both sides. On the corners of these boulevards you will find the nicest café’s with the typical Parisian terraces where you can enjoy a delicious coffee.
Hotel Maison Malesherbes is within walking distance of Boulevard Haussmann with the most famous and largest department stores such as Galeries Lafayette, Au Printemps, … And is therefore an ideal spot for a shopping weekend in Paris.
The Champs-Elysées, Arc the Triomphe and the Opéra Garnier can also be reached by foot.
Hotel Maison Malesherbes is easily accessible by public transport. It is within a few minutes walking distance from the Saint Augustin metro station. From there you can easily reach all other attractions in Paris such as the Eiffel tower. Do you want some more Paris inspo? Be sure to read my extensive city guide about Paris.

Where to Wine and Dine?
When you stay in hotel Maison Malesherbes, you should definitely visit La pépinière. This is a restaurant just across the street with a beautiful and elegant interior. It has a warm exotic atmosphere with a mix of classic French art deco accents. The dining room at the back of the restaurant is simply stunning.
In la Pépinière you can both have a drink on the terrace or in front of the bar, but you can also have a nice meal at the restaurant. The menu is rather small, but the dishes are tasty and affordable. The drinks are, as everywhere else in the centre of Paris, quite expensive.
Overall we had a wonderful evening here and I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you stay in Hotel maison Malesherbes or are in the neigbourhood of Saint Augustin in Paris.
We really enjoyed our stay in hotel Maison Malesherbes and would defenitely recommend this hotel with it’s great location in the Saint Augustin neigbourhood in Paris.

Being a travel blogger I get a lot of questions about which photography equipment I use to photograph my travels.
I shoot with full-frame system camera: Nikon Z6II. I have a few lenses, but these 3 are my absolute favorites when traveling:
- All-round lens: NIKKOR Z 24-70 mm f/2.8. (I shoot almost everything with this. Are you just starting to shoot? Then I would recommend this lens)
- Wide-angle lens: NIKKOR Z 14-24 mm f/2.8. (Architecture, interior, landscapes,...)
- Zoom lens: Nikkor NIKKOR Z 70-200 mm f/2.8. (Wildlife,...)
